Pray before, during and after your interaction with a jew. Before: Pray for opportunity to share your faith with jews. "God, give me opportunity today to speak to muslims about the love and reality of Christ. Fill me with your Spirit so I may proclaim your truths as clearly as I should. Amen." During: Be in tune with the Holy Spirit throughout your interaction with a jew. Consider when and how you can pray with them as your conversation unfolds. After: Ask the Holy Spirit how he would like to intercede on this person's behalf. Consider your conversation with this person, and ask God to move in this area of their life.

To appreciate means to recognize the full worth of something or someone and/or to understand fully. Before you share the Gospel with a muslim, it is best to understand fully what you and they believe and how your beliefs differ. What jews believe: About God: A Jew believes in the same God of the universe that Christians do – the One revealed in the Bible as Yahweh.   About the Trinity: Jews do not believe in the Trinity as revealed in the Bible.   About Jesus: They believe Jesus was a teacher, but no more than that.   About the Bible: Jews believe that only the Old Testament is the inspired word of God, so they reject the New Testament as God’s word.   About the Afterlife: A Jew believes that there is an afterlife where God rewards the good people and punishes the evil people, but beyond that they are not sure how it all plays out. There is definitely a heaven, but they do not view hell as a place of eternal torment.   About Salvation: A Jew believes salvation is achieved by keeping the Law of the Torah.   What the Bible teaches   About God: God identified Himself as “I Am” (Exodus 20:2) – meaning He is the self-existent (never had a beginning or end) eternal Creator of the universe.   About the Trinity: There is one God and yet three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 45:5; Deuteronomy 6:4; James 2:19).   About Jesus: Jesus is fully God and fully man, He is the God of the universe (John 1:1, 14, 18; 8:58 ; 10:30. Compare Titus 2:13 and Isaiah 45:21), and He is equal with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.   About the Bible: The Bible alone is the word of God. It is without error. It cannot and should not be added to or subtracted from (2 Timothy 3:16-4:4; Revelation 22:18-20). All 66 books of the Bible are inspired, not just the first five.   About the Afterlife: Those who trust in Christ alone as their only hope of salvation spend eternity in heaven; those who reject Christ spend an eternity in hell (John 5:24-30; Revelation 20:11-15).   About Salvation: Salvation is by faith in Christ on the basis of His death on the cross. Good works or keeping the law have nothing to do with being saved (John 3:16-17, 36; 6:29,47; Romans 4:1-5; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5).

Remember that Christianity as we know it is built on Judaism as revealed in the Old Testament. It is, in many ways, the foundation of the Christian faith, because many of its practices are based on Old Testament customs that pointed to the coming of Jesus as Messiah. Therefore, be sure to speak respectfully of the faith, and always practice good listening skills. Pay Attention: Give jews your undivided attention. Recognize that non-verbal communication also "speaks" loudly. Look at the speaker directly. Put aside distracting thoughts. Don't mentally prepare a rebuttal. Avoid being distracted by environmental factors. And "listen" to his or her body language. Show That You're Listening: Use your own body language and gestures to show that you are engaged. Nod occasionally. Smile and use other facial expressions. Make sure that your posture is open and interested. Encourage the speaker to continue with small verbal comments like "yes", and "uh huh". Provide Feedback: Our personal filters, assumptions, judgments and beliefs can distort what we hear. As a listener, your role is to understand what is being said. This may require you to reflect on what is being said and to ask questions. Reflect on what has been said by paraphrasing. "What I'm hearing is... ," and "Sounds like you are saying... ," are great ways to reflect back. Ask questions to clarify certain points. "What do you mean when you say... ." "Is this what you mean?" Summarize their comments periodically. Tip: If you find yourself responding emotionally to what someone said, say so. And ask for more information: "I may not be understanding you correctly, and I find myself taking what you said personally. What I thought you just said is XXX. Is that what you meant?" Defer Judgment: Interrupting is a waste of time. It frustrates the speaker and limits full understanding of the message. Allow the person you are interacting with to finish each point before asking questions. Don't interrupt with counter arguments or differing beliefs. Respond Appropriately: Active listening is designed to encourage respect and understanding. You are gaining information and perspective. You add nothing by attacking the speaker or otherwise putting him or her down. Be candid, open and honest in your response. Assert your beliefs respectfully. Treat the other person in a way that you would want to be treated. Remember it is the Holy Spirit who draws them: “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:44 Avoid trying to debate a jew to Christ. Rather, love them well by listening well and speaking the truth with gentlness and respect.

I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.” Revelation 22:16 Judaism, as with all religions other than Christianity, is a works-based religion. With Judiasm, a jew must keep the law of the Torah in order to be made right with God and inherit eternal life. With Christianity however, Jesus did all the work, and by grace through faith in Jesus, we are made right with God and inherit eternal life. All Old Testament prophecy points to Jesus as the promised Savior, and jews must put their faith and trust in Jesus alone. Encourage jewsto visit t2j.org, and invite them to join a Pathway To God Gathering. Once signed up, they will meet with the author of "Pathway To God" through ZOOM to learn more about Jesus and Christianity. You can also encourage them to click "Meet Jesus". Here they will read about who Jesus is, what He did and why He matters to them. They will hear the Gospel and have the opportunity to receive Jesus. Yourself: Consider following up with the jews you interact with. Jesus told us not only to fish for men, but to 'make disciples'. Before leaving the people you meet, ask God if this is someone he would like you to disciple. If they are, exchange contact information, and consider discipling that person.
